The Area

Tigh an Tearlach is situated near Feshiebridge in the Cairngorms National Park.

There is so much to do in the area and the cottage is a great base for exploring on foot, by bike, on the water or by car.

On foot - there are some lovely walks from the cottage through the woods above Feshiebridge, along the River Feshie and the Badenoch Way. Inshriach Forest is great for birdwatching and gentle strolls.

There are beautiful walks around Loch an Eilein in Rothiemurchus Forest, Loch Morlich with it's sandy beach and view of Cairngorm and for experienced hillwalkers there are several Munros (mountains over 3000ft) nearby.

By bike - the mountain biking here is superb with miles of forest trails, fantastic singletrack and classic routes to choose from. You could ride a different route every day and never have to use your car! The opportunities for gravel riding are superb as well with seemingly endless loops up Glen Feshie.

On the water: nearby Loch Insh has canoe hire, boating and stand-up paddleboarding amongst other activities, as well as the excellent Boathouse Restaurant.

There are some classic swimming spots at Feshiebridge and further up the Glen for the adventurous.

By car - Aviemore and Cairngorm Mountain are a short drive from the cottage and day trips are possible to Inverness, Loch Ness, the Speyside Distillery Trail and even over to the West Coast.

In winter and spring there can be some very good skiing at Cairngorm and there is excellent ski touring to be had in the hills above Glen Feshie.
